i already have a mustang and a paint but iam going back into vaulting and was woundering which breed should i go for but i like horses with color mabye a (blank) and half paint|||they usually go for the broad backs, for safety.
Belgians, Percherons, the smaller, broad drafters.
Percherons are great for high level vaulting,
the greys don't show the rosin...
Draft of any sort x Paint would probably do well,
drafts tend to have that unflappable personality.|||Breed doesn't matter as much as the ability to be unfazed and keep a steady gait no matter what. I'd think breed would be the last consideration - height, temperment, stride, etc mean more.|||Canadians are a good build for vaulting.
Since everyone is into this 'breeds don't matter' thing, I'm adding that while breed isn't the key factor, it is good to consider, as a lot of breeds don't have a good build for vaulting.
Friesians are flashy and good build, but not colorful. A white (gray) horse will always catch people's eyes, and they are easy to 'dress up'. They also make the vaulter stand out more.|||breed is not as imporant, use a strong mount. try a draft blooded horse that is quiet.
