What can Trojan Horse Downloader do to my computer?

I looked up and don't get the answer that is clear enough.

Last couple of weeks, AVG detected these Trojan Horses Downloader on my computer and now they are in the vault.

What do they do to the computer exactly and should I remove them from the vault?|||Yes remove them.

The better program to remove a Trojan is an anti-spyware program. Download Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirro鈥?/a>

It is free and works well if you update the data files on a regular basis using the update feature included with the program.

A trojan can steal personal data and send it to a third party to allow them to steal your identity.|||Trojans are spy-ware that are very dangerous as they record your keystrokes and grab other pertinent information from your computer so criminals can steal your identity and gain access to your computer. They can also use your computer to replicate other viruses and some pretty dirty stuff to infect other computers. Let AVG take care of these Trojans and contact their customer service center and ask them what should be done. It may be dangerous to remove them completely once they are quarantined.

Good Luck!|||it is spyware which will keep coming in through your internet explorer

If you do not have firefox get it now and use it instead of internet explorer so you dont get any more spyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>

To remove the spyware/trojan/virus run steps 1-2-3

1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a> do that now .Update it (Latest updates 12-04-2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode

1b) Run AVG Anti-Spyware Free

or

SUPERAntiSpyware Home Edition (free version)

2) Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

3) Get another anti virus program if your present anti virus program is not protecting you any longer

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>|||A better question would be, what can't a trojan loader do to your computer. This malicious code can cause havoc with your machine, your life, your identity, your personal info, and possibly your personal safety, if taken to extremes. When your AV or antispyware quarantines a suspected file, don't ever keep it in a vault or anywhere else. Trash it right away, file and all. It's MUCH easier to replace a file that your box needs with a clean copy rather than try to clean an infected file, which may or may not work. Is it worth the risk?|||Trojan Horses are computer programs that appear to be a useful program but actually contain a virus. So long as your anti-virus program got them then you should be okay.|||My suggestion would be to not do anything to your computer. Don't turn it off or open any files. Go to the computer store and get a brand-new version of your favorite anti-virus program ( I like MacAfee). Install it and see if it catches and destroys it. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid that you need to do a system restore. You will have needed to back up your files previous to the invasion because if you back them up now you will most likely write the virus to your back up files and then load it right back onto your now clean drive. Sorry.

Trojan Horses are just what history tells us they are. They are volatile strings of code encased in seemingly harmless programs. They could be anything.
