I appear to have Trojan Horse FakeAlert.RO. Is there anything else I can do?

I have no internet connection running on the infected machine, despite my NetGear Key. I run AVG free 9.0 version 9.0.801. I have Norman Malware Cleaner running, but Resident Shield has uncovered it also. It offers to move it to Vault, but when the option is selected it gives a warning saying that forced removal can cause system instability or even crash." Any suggestions welcome.|||To Remove Virus/Malware/Trojan,Fake Anti-Virus, Worm Pop pop up advertising and

Let me know if the solution worked and if yes please rate me|||It could be a false positive. Another option would be go to http://bleepingcomputer.com , register, log in and run a hijackthis log and let one of the professionals there tell you what software you need to get your PC back in shape again.

You will have to do this on the PC that is infected.|||Perhaps you should try a different malware programme?

Try to install and scan with Spybot S%26amp;D or Malwarebytes Anti-malware to remove any malware pests. Both have an IP blocker option and real-time protection (free in Spybot, available only in the full version of Malwarebytes), which is good at preventing the problem before it happens. I for one use full MBAM (someone here answered another question recommending Malwarebytes coupon codes shared by other users on http://news.dtcdeals.com/malwarebytes-co鈥?/a> to save on the purchase) I prefer it since it has a scheduler to run scans and upgrades by itself.

Hopefully this will work out for you but if not, go for a fresh install and restore from backup and see if this helps any. Good Luck! :)
