I am trying to find information on how to train this horse to become a vaulting horse. Not for competition or anything, but for enjoyment and for a simple parent/crowd pleaser. I am a college student at Cal Poly Pomona, and this horse is a rather dull, sweet, green broke pleasure horse. She's pretty chill and kind of a babysitter. She hasn't been ridden in a while, so I'm not expecting to jump on her and start standing or anything, but after a few months of getting her use to being ridden and lunged, i would like to start teaching her to be a vaulting horse. I kinda know the basics about training her, but i'm not one-hundred percent sure. The first horse I trained to vault, went really well. But he was a quarter, and this mare is an arab. Totally different. lol. So, if anyone has any information at all it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!.|||I bet there are plenty of books and google searches on it.
I mean, really...do you think it's so simple that someone can just post a 1..2..3.. step process? There are details, loads of details to cover in ANY training of a horse.
And books and DVDs are a much better source. I suggest you do some real research to be sure you get all the details needed.|||hmm thanks, i suppose. And no of course i don't think its as easy as 1 2 3. Any sound horse person should know that asking the opinions of others help WAY more then anything a text book can tell you. Book and DVDs are all well and good, but hands on personal experience is more than anything.Thanks.
