Question about Trojan horse on my computer?

July 2 my AVG detected a trojan horse, and it moved it to the virus vault, But Today July 9, it detected the trojan horse, under the same file name as before, So i had two infected files with the same name in the virus vault, how is that possible? And I thought Trojan horses were easy to get rid of

Also this time I emptied the virus vault, would that make a difference?|||sounds like u caught it twice,an it can do no harm from virus vault|||try to put your computer on safe mode, then scan again, maybe it is still there. also scan all drives, not only c:|||The most likely reason is that the Trojan horse was in a file. Most likely the file in its entirety is infected. Find the file that is infected and right click it. Select the scan button and all of the bad files will be found and put into your virus vault.|||spybot search and destroy would do the job!download it%26gt; http://dw.com.com/redir?pid=10401314%26amp;mer鈥?/a>|||It is possible that you visited the same website that contained your original Trojan and you got it again. What is Trojan horse Downloader?

Avg anti-virus found a Trojan horse Downloader Small 58.BF at

C:\WINNT\System32\Shell Ext.\wmi.vbs

I removed it to Vault but I still get warnings from Avg that the virus is still there.

So what exactly is a trojan horse downloader? What harm can it do to my computer? After I removed it to vault should I delete it from there?

Thanks|||it is spyware which will keep coming in through your internet explorer

If you do not have firefox get it now and use it instead of internet explorer so you dont get any more spyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>

To remove the spyware/trojan/virus run steps 1-2-3

1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a> do that now .Update it (Latest updates 04-04-2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode

1b) Run AVG Anti-Spyware Free

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>

or

SUPERAntiSpyware Home Edition (free version)

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>

2) Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>

3) Get another anti virus program if your present anti virus program is not protecting you any longer

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>

Protection once your computer is spyware free

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c鈥?/a>|||Go toi the virus vault and delete the virus A.S.AP!! We got the virus last night but it is cleared now... but in the mean time do NOT put your credit card details on any site, its most likely that there was spyware attached to the trojan downloader.

If you EVER see a pop-up with a message like:

"This page contains errors, which may crash your computer. To view it safely, downolad safescript now!"

Make sure you close the browser... if you click yes then it will add spyware to your computer, and increase the chance of a virus getting in. Even if you press no it still may download. Take care!

If you have BT yahoo broadband then install the anti-spyware scanner off the site, it will detect anything that's still there.|||Today I have finally got rid of this damn thing from my computer.

I caught this 'virus' after stupidly downloading winantispyware which had a virus attached.

The pop ups drove me insane.

The only advice I can offer is:

1.most anti spy ware and anti virus wont get rid of it (AVG didnt work for me)

2. you need to turn off your system restore prior to running any anti spy or virus program. re boot then turn it back on - if you dont do this it just re starts each time you restart your computer. (start menu - right click on my computer - properties - system restore tab - uncheck this box- then apply - ok)

3. I downloaded Prevx1 and Superantispyware free from the net and they cleaned my system up. (ALWAYS TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE WHEN RUNNING THE ANTIVIRUS) or it just saves a little bit and then is comes back to bite you.

http://virusinfo.prevx.com/viruscenter - this explains trojan horse

3. There is still more in your computer than what you have in the vault - it wont matter if you delete from the vault or not.

Go look at the answers to my previous questions from 24 hours ago regarding this topic.

Goodluck|||I faced such type of problem 2 months ago.... it is precious to remove this trojan.... i use Norton... Mcafee... I just did a virus scan and found that I have a trojan horse..It has been moved to the virus vault..?

Am I supposed to delete it from there, or do I leave it there? I am using avg free, but I don't know what to do now. Any ideas?|||if u delete it it may go back into your computer ( i hate trojan horses wherever u get it from, it puts a ton of them in your computer, ) your best option is to rather find its location on your computer and delete it from there or try healing it from the vault

good luck|||You can empty your virus vault at any time. No problem at all.|||yes write the name down for future referance and set the virus scans to delete now delete it|||If your computer runs fine for a few days you can delete it.

OK, For the last 3 days a "Backdoor" Trojan Horse has showed up on my virus scan. ?

I have McAfee and keep putting it in the Virus Vault. My question is if it's in the virus vault can it still hurt my computer? Do I have to heal it or what?|||Forgive me if i have this wrong....but if you are saying

that McAfee delete this every day but it always returns

then that would mean its resident in system restore.

Go to start ...r/cick my comp...click on system restore and

check the box to turn it off...click ok and/or apply.

Scan again with McAfee and remove it then turn system

restore back on and this will create a new clean restore point.

Also it would do no harm in quarantine...but delete

after a few days if you wish.|||You often have to take a multi-pronged approach to eradicate all the malware. One product usually doesn't do it alone.

First download the following (if the virus is blocking your internet, you may have to download these on another machine and burn to CD or copy to a USB memory stick)

Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/superant鈥?/a>

CCleaner (cleans out caches) http://www.ccleaner.com

Avast! 4 Home: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-鈥?/a>

Now, start the machine in Safe Mode (hit the F8 function key as the machine boots up, and choose Safe mode)

Turn off System Restore on your machine, but only until you get this fixed - many of these trojans get copied into the System Restore files, which anti-virus programs aren't allowed to touch and the viruses could reinstall themselves from there. My Computer %26gt; Properties %26gt; System Restore.

Then run Malwarebytes, and clean everything it says

Then run CCleaner

Then run Avast - If a virus infection is persistent, use Avast to do a boot-scan - click on "schedule boot-scan" and restart the computer

Then run Superantispyware

Then turn System Restore back on.

Now install the antivirus program and antispyware program of your choice to do continuous scanning, and make sure you keep it up to date.

Always keep your Windows, web browser and Java software up to date - frequent patches are released to plug security holes.

Who can tell me about trojan horse viruses?

I'm computer illiterate. I have to admit it. I am addicted to Scrabble. I don't buy stuff online, so I finally broke down and bought me a disc to download the game. I've been in Scrabble Heaven....up until this a.m. when I had a trojan horse alert and it said it was from Scrabble! aauuugh! Not my Scrabble!! I automatically sent it to the vault and removed the program from my computer. Will I ever be able to install my game ever again, or is it forever a threat to my computer?|||Hi,

I just had the same problem and the conditions are: using the purchased disk of scrabble and AVG anti-virus. This alert just came up this morning but I noticed that I had just done an update to the AVG anti-virus definitions. To verify the problem is with the latest version of AVG virus definitions I went back to a backup of my disk a couple of weeks ago and ran the AVG virus check on the scrabble exe and it said no problems, then I updated the virus definitions to today and now it says the scrabble exe is infected with a trojan horse. The scrabble exe is dated April of 2007 and hasn't been modified. I am going to alert AVG company to a false alert, and tell my AVG scanner to ignore this false alarm(didn't work see below). One last point, I have just installed Norton Anti-Virus and scanned the same file and it reported no problems. Finally I ended up uninstalling AVG anti-virus and will reinstall in a few weeks after they get their virus definitions updated properly. You may need to reinstall the Scrabble program if you disabled it.|||A trojan horse is generaly a bit of software that lies dormant on your system and allows access to it by another computer/person over a network or the internet. there is a huge market in the inderground for putting trojan's on loads (1,000's) of computers and then one day the controler of all these computers (also refered to as botnets) will make all of the computers send data to one location on the internet, bombarding it with information untill it crashes. this is just one use for them, can also be used to steal passwords credit card info etc..|||Where exactly did you get this CD? Therefore, a computer worm or virus may be a Trojan horse. The term is derived from the classical story of the Trojan Horse.

The word 'Trojan horse' is generally attributed to Daniel Edwards of the NSA. He is given credit for identifying the attack form in the report "Computer Security Technology Planning Study". The term derives from the Trojan War, as mentioned in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey and Virgil's Aeneid: worn out by the long siege, the attacking Greeks built a giant wooden horse, ostensibly a peace offering, and pretended to sail away, but in fact left soldiers hidden inside the statue. After the Trojans brought the horse inside the city walls, the soldiers emerged, opened the gates to the Greek armies, and sacked the city of Troy.

A classic example originated from computer pioneer Ken Thompson in his 1983 ACM Turing Award lecture. Thompson noted that it is possible to add code to the UNIX "login" command that would accept either the intended encrypted password or a specific special password, allowing a back door into the system with the latter password. Furthermore, Thompson argued, the C compiler itself could be modified to automatically generate the rogue code, to make detecting the modification even harder. Because the compiler is itself a program generated from a compiler, the Trojan horse could also be automatically installed in a new compiler program, without any detectable modification to the source of the new compiler.

Trojan horse payloads are almost always designed to cause harm, but can also be harmless. They are classified based on how they breach and damage systems. The six main types of Trojan horse payloads are:

Remote Access

Data Destruction

Down loader

Server Trojan(Proxy, FTP , IRC, Email, HTTP/HTTPS, etc.)

Security software disabler

Denial-of-service attack (DoS)

Some examples of damage are:

Erasing or overwriting data on a computer

Re-installing itself after being disabled

Encrypting files in a cryptoviral extortion attack

Corrupting files in a subtle way

Upload and download files

Copying fake links, which lead to false websites, chats, or other account based websites, showing any local account name on the computer falsely engaging in untrue context

Falsifying records of downloading software, movies, or games from websites never visited by the victim.

Allowing remote access to the victim's computer. This is called a RAT (remote access trojan)

Spreading other malware, such as viruses (this type of trojan horse is called a 'dropper' or 'vector')

Setting up networks of zombie computers in order to launch DDoS attacks or send spam.

Spying on the user of a computer and covertly reporting data like browsing habits to other people (see the article on spyware)

Making screenshots

Logging keystrokes to steal information such as passwords and credit card numbers

Phishing for bank or other account details, which can be used for criminal activities

Installing a backdoor on a computer system

Opening and closing CD-ROM tray

Playing sounds, videos or displaying images

Calling using the modem to expensive numbers, thus causing massive phone bills

Harvesting e-mail addresses and using them for spam

Restarting the computer whenever the infected program is started

Deactivating or interfering with anti-virus and firewall programs

Deactivating or interfering with other competing forms of malware

Randomly shutting off the computer

Installing a virus

Since Trojan horses have a variety of forms, there is no single method to delete them. The simplest responses involve clearing the temporary internet files file and deleting it manually. Normally, anti-virus software is able to detect and remove the trojan automatically. If the antivirus cannot find it, booting the computer from alternate media(cd) may allow an antivirus program to find a trojan and delete it. Updated anti-spyware programs are also efficient against this threat.

Most varieties of Trojan horses are hidden on the computer without the user's awareness. Trojan horses sometimes use the Registry, adding entries that cause programs to run every time the computer boots up. Trojan horses may also work by combining with legitimate files on the computer. When the legitimate file is opened, the Trojan horse opens as well.

How Trojans work

Trojans usually consist of two parts, a Client and a Server. The server is run on the victim's machine and listens for connections from a Client used by the attacker.

When the server is run on a machine it will listen on a specific port or multiple ports for connections from a Client. In order for an attacker to connect to the server they must have the IP Address of the computer where the server is being run. Some trojans have the IP Address of the computer they are running on sent to the attacker via email or another form of communication.

Once a connection is made to the server, the client can then send commands to the server; the server will then execute these commands on the victim's machine.

Today, with NAT infrastructure being common, most computers cannot be reached by their external ip address. Therefore many trojans now connect to the computer of the attacker, which has been set up to take the connections, instead of the attacker connecting to his or her victim. This is called a 'reverse-connect' trojan. Many trojans nowadays also bypass many personal firewall installed on the victims computer (eg. Poison-Ivy).|||ok

reinstall the game on the computer

run a full virus scan on the computer with the game installed, if no virus's are found then you know its not the game

if the game is on disk and has come from a known source i.e. not pirated and not downloaded then there is no chance of it being a virus, if the download source is a known and reputable website then theres very little chance of that game containing a virus

probable cause of trojan warning is a adware or spyware program landing on your computer and then trying to make you think that you have a virus on your computer when you dont.

best action to take if you ever receive a virus threat warning of any kind

check what program is saying it:- is it a pop up, seperate internet window or is it your actual anti virus program saying this

if it is a pop up or another internet window then ignore it its spyware or adware if its your anti virus then check that your new game is registered with the anti virus properly some games activity can be perceived as a virus by some anti virus's so your game may well be fine but the anti virus thinks its a virus when its not

hope this helps and makes sense|||There are varying definitions of a trojan. The main thing to remember that a single trojan horse on your computer can carry multiple viruses, spyware, etc.

Symantec (Norton) defined it as "...impostors鈥攆iles that claim to be something desirable but, in fact, are malicious. A very important distinction between Trojan horse programs and true viruses is that they do not replicate themselves. Trojan horses contain malicious code that when triggered cause loss, or even theft, of data. For a Trojan horse to spread, you must invite these programs onto your computers; for example, by opening an email attachment or downloading and running a file from the Internet. Trojan.Vundo is a Trojan horse."

http://service1.symantec.com/support/nav鈥?/a>

Ask Leo defines a trojan as "...a program that claims to be one thing but is, in fact, another. A trojan horse is not a virus per se but it may carry them. For example many people consider Kazaa, the music sharing software: a trojan horse because it carries with it a bunch of spyware. There are trojans that claim to be patches for a problem, often arriving in email, that are in fact spyware and virus installers."

You should be able to scan and delete the Trojan. Also you could download the McAfee 30 trial and install it update it and use it to get the Trojan. But it sounds like AVG is not getting the job done on this virus. I also hear that Avast is a good free anti-virus. Good luck!

The pop ups may be a totally different issue called spy-ware or ad-ware go to http://www.lavasoft.com and download the free version of Ad-Aware 2007 install it update it and run it and remove everything it finds.|||Ouch.

boot into safe mode, and rescan with AVG. delete what it finds. scan again. reboot into safe mode. Scan. reboot into normal mode and try again.

There are too many variables here to really determine the problem. BUT if the above does not work, create another account on your computer, boot into safe mode, and manually delete the old profile. It's kinda like smahing a fly with a sledgehammer, but it usually works.|||I'm no expert on this stuff, but maybe it would help you to turn off 'system restore' before running the anti-virus software. I know that some viruses/trojans and whatnot can hide in there and re-infect your system because most software cannot scan inside that area because it is a system protected space. Well, this is what I've been told anyway. Anyway, get rid of whatever you have been infected with, then you can turn system restore back on if you wish.|||This sounds terribly like the virtumonde trojan.download this freeware

Can i take this trojan horse from my Virual Vault ?

I already safely deleted some .exe trojans from AVG Virus Vault, but i'm wondering if its safe to delete some .DLL trojan horses from the Healed Virus Vault ?

allegedly they are healed, but i wonder if its safe to delete those DLL trojans from the avg virus vault?|||The reason your PC is working even though some .exe and dll are in the vault is, windows keeps a secret store about 300 Mb of its important files. if one is deleted or damaged or put in the vault Windows just gets itself a good copy from there.

so it is safe to empty the vault if you want to.

.EXE files are the actual main program files, exe is short for executable, execute means carry out an action

.DLL files are program extensions, dll means dynamic link library... these are small program sections the .exe can call in to use when it needs them (linking to them on the run) then they get shut down and replaced with another one.

This is why you might get DLL missing or DLL corrupt errors, if the EXE can't find the DLL it wants. Less likely to get EXE errors because there is no program running to complain to you. Both types are equally important, which is why WIndows keeps spares of them.|||Generally anything in the virus vault can be removed. Empptying the vault is normally perfectly safe.|||If they're in the virus vault, they can't be doing anything anyway, and if your computer is working without them now, there can't be much harm in deleting them. You can delete them from the virus vault if you so choose as well. Shouldn't be any problem.

Also, the malware may still be lurking in your system restore volumes so it would be in your best interests to disable system restore, reboot then re-enable system restore when you log back on. What this does is protects you from reloading the malware should you ever need to do a system restore.

Many anti-virus products cannot remove viruses from system restore thus the reason for clearing out possible infected points. For reference to this, see the link below:|||Hi,

The assistant stands in front of a target board or is strapped to a moving board and the impalement artist throws knives or shoots projectiles so as to hit the board but miss the assistant. The image or character of the target girl has also permeated beyond the impalement arts and become an icon in fiction and visual media.

Although some assistants are male there is no common equivalent term for a male assistant. This reflects the fact that, historically at least, female assistants have predominated in the acts in question.[1] The presence of an assistant as a human target provides a powerful element of risk. Without assistants placing themselves in danger these acts would be simple demonstrations of accuracy, but with the potential for injury or death the show is much more dramatic. Target girls often wear revealing costumes, thus adding an element of overt sexuality to an act. In this respect there is some similarity to magicians' assistants, although there is a distinct difference in that any apparent danger to an assistant in a magic act is mostly an illusion, whereas impalement acts are demonstrations of accuracy, nerve and calculated risk and the danger is real.[2] While some observers have perceived target girls as masochistic or passive and some feminists criticise the concept as misogynist, several target girls have given accounts of themselves as assertive women and portrayed their experiences as empowering (see Target girls as authors).

Various theories have been put forward to explain the enduring appeal of the target girl. These range from simple awe at the display of steely nerves and complete trust to more complex psychological and philosophical theories. While some point to overtones of sadomasochistic eroticism, others cite dramaturgical works and point to parallels with the story arc of the hero in classic drama.[3] In particular the assistant's performance is said to mirror the plot device of the hero's ordeal, in which the hero proves his or her heroic qualities through self-sacrifice or by facing extreme peril.[4] Jim Steinmeyer, a noted illusion designer who has written well-regarded books on the history of magic, has identified a fashion for female peril as entertainment in the post-First World War period. Steinmeyer has written that P. T. Selbit's stage debut of the Sawing Through A Woman illusion in 1921 marked the beginning of a trend for women as the victims of choice for acts simulating danger or torture. While Steinmeyer focuses on stage magic and attributes some of the trend to practical factors, he also points to a broader pattern in entertainment generally, which he links to social trends. He concludes that: "...beyond practical concerns, the image of the woman in peril became a specific fashion in entertainment".[5] A further view on historical trends is provided by performer and blogger Ula the Painproof Rubbergirl, who has acted as a target girl for New York-based knife thrower The Great Throwdini. In an extensive article on her experiences and philosophical approach to the art she notes: "Knife throwing is an old act. So is high wire. And rodeo. And stone throwing, witch burning, beheading, Roman gladiators, jousting, dog fights, you name it - we, humans, love it. And we love a vulnerable woman. Isn't there something oddly attractive about the woman in danger? I remember seeing lots of soundless black and white movies with a girl tied to the railroad tracks or a girl tied to a sawmill by some evil perverted landlord.|||IMDb user comments for

gee, it's swell!, 28 October 1999

Author: Goon-2 from WA

I grew up on "The Mickey Mouse Club" repeats as a child, yet I have absolutely no recollection of watching this corny, but entertaining "serial" that played within them, and have only now "discovered" it through watching reruns again.

Listed as a "western,"which is a genre I don't usually like, this is actually a sort of charming little show about two friends who meet at a western-themed summer camp named, surprise surprise, Spin Evans(who would name their child SPIN?!), a fun-loving country boy and Marty Markham, a spoiled rich kid who takes his butler to camp with him and demands of everybody. At first Spin and Marty are enemies(very entertaining), but slowly their hatred dwindles and soon they are the best of pals, getting into lots of adventures at their camp with Mr. Perkins(Marty's butler), the camp counselor and their other friends Ambitious(ugh), Moochie(Kevin Corcoron, of just about every Disney project at the time) and gettting some girl friends like Annette and Darlene(the Mousketeers, who act...just like they do in the Mickey Mouse club.) The plots are usually simple(Moochie gets lost in the desert, Spin and Marty enter horse races, etc), but it is in a nice and relaxing way, and the acting, by Tim Considine(later to go onto "My Three Sons") and David Stollery is actually pretty good, considering. It's one of those dated little shows that would never sell with the wild, Pokemon obsessed kids of today, but it's kind of fun to watch and look back upon the olden days, when all entertainment was that simple and relaxed and "feel good." This is certainly a fun and feel good show alright. Swell.|||If you want to see a movie about a boy who runs away to join the circus and becomes a girl, here it is.

James Otis Kaler was an extremely prolific author of boys' novels, all of which have vanished into obscurity except one: 'Toby Tyler', the tale of an abused boy who runs away and joins the circus. 'Circus Days', intended as a star vehicle for child actor Jackie Coogan, is based on that novel ... yet radically alters the material. (Which may explain why the film studio did not use the title of the original novel -- still hugely popular in 1923 -- for this movie.) In 1960, 'Toby Tyler' was remade by Walt Disney ... and again, the film radically deviated from the novel. But these two film versions deviate from the novel in very different directions.

SLIGHT SPOILERS. Young Toby (Coogan) is constantly beaten, whipped and overworked by Eben Holt, his mother's sister's husband. When Toby accidentally breaks Holt's chinaware, he is terrified that he'll receive another flogging. He runs away, and lands up with a convenient circus in which he gets a job as a concessionaire, selling lemonade and other snacks.

The original novel got a whole chapter out of Toby's ordeal when one of his customers slips him a bad nickel. In the Disney movie, that incident is reduced to one line of dialogue. 'Circus Days' substitutes a very implausible sequence in which Toby accidentally fills lemonade glasses with petrol, and sells this to customers ... who don't notice the switch until they drink it. Surely the colour and the fumes would tip them off? A kindly circus clown (Cesare Gravina: a good performance in a badly-written role) uses his own savings to help Toby get out of trouble. Yes, circus performers always have lots of money saved up. The movie gets even less plausible (and more offensive) when Toby gets locked in the lion's cage. The beast lumbers towards him on all fours ... and turns out to be an African-American man wearing a lion's skin and head (with 'yassuh' dialogue in the intertitles). Turns out that the lion died, so they offered the job to Old Black Joe.

The bareback rider in the circus is pretty Jeannette, a girl about Toby's age (played by an actress rather older). Toby's carelessness causes an accident in which Jeannette sprains her ankle, and she can't perform. No problem: the circus crew dress up Toby as a girl, and they train him to do Jeannette's riding act. (With some very obvious stunt doubling.) There's a very sick-making moment here when Luigi the clown kisses Toby. It's bad enough that a man is kissing a boy, but the boy is dressed as a girl and the man is costumed as a clown. I couldn't help thinking of a certain gay serial killer who wore a clown costume. Ugh!

In the original novel, Toby Tyler did indeed become a bareback rider ... a *male* equestrian, under the name Monsieur Ajax. The Disney film applied that name to a character not present in the novel: a boy equestrian who was Toby's rival. The female impersonation angle was devised for this Jackie Coogan movie, and is blessedly absent from the novel and Disney's remake.|||The Boeing B-47 Stratojet was a medium-range and medium-size jet bomber capable of flying at high subsonic speeds and primarily designed for penetrating the airspace of the Soviet Union. A major innovation in post-World War II combat jet design, it helped lead to the development of modern jet airliners. While the B-47 never saw major combat use, it remained a mainstay of the U.S. Air Force's Strategic Air Command (SAC) during the 1950s and early 1960s.

[edit] Development

The B-47 arose from a 1943 U.S. Army Air Forces requirement for a jet bomber and reconnaissance aircraft that could reach Nazi Germany in the event that Great Britain fell. The next year, the requirement evolved into a formal request for a bomber with a specified speed of 500 mph (800 km/h) or more, a range of 3,500 mi (5,600 km), and a service ceiling of 40,000 ft (12,200 m). It envisioned using the General Electric TG-180 turbojet engine, then in development. The subsequent von K谩rm谩n mission inspected Nazi Germany laboratories from May 1 - July 1945. One of the members was Boeing's chief aerodynamicist, George Schairer, who became so convinced of the merits of such a design that in May, 1945[clarification needed] he wrote a letter to Boeing management suggesting the matter be investigated.[citation needed]

[edit] Preliminary designs

North American, Convair, and Boeing submitted proposals. The first Boeing proposal, the Model 424, was a modification of a conventional propeller-driven bomber design, basically a scaled-down version of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress fitted with four jet engines.

Meanwhile, the USAAF had awarded study contracts to all three aircraft manufacturers working on the jet bomber project, as well as to Martin, which had also decided to join the fray. All of the competing bombers, including the North American B-45, Convair XB-46 and Martin XB-48 would have conventional straight wings with four to six engines, and would lack the performance of the swept wing B-47.

[edit] NACA design tests

The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA, the ancestor of NASA) performed wind tunnel tests on a composite model of the designs submitted by the manufacturers. (The three submissions were generally similar.)

The NACA wind tunnel tests showed that the Boeing model suffered from excessive drag. Boeing engineers then tried a revised design, the Model 432, with the four engines buried in the forward fuselage, but although it had some structural advantages there was little effect on drag. At this point Boeing engineers turned to the German swept-wing data. A little design work by Boeing aerodynamicist Vic Ganzer led to an optimum sweepback of 35 degrees.

Boeing modified the Model 432 design with swept wings and tail, resulting in the Model 448, which was presented to the USAAF in September 1946. The Model 448 retained the four TG-180 engines in the forward fuselage and, at the instigation of project manager George Martin, added two more TG-180s buried in the rear fuselage to provide greater range and performance.

Boeing submitted the Model 448 to the USAAF, only to have it rejected immediately. The Air Force strongly disliked fitting the engines in the fuselage, since that made engine fire or disintegration catastrophic. The engines would have to be moved back out on the wings.

My AVG anti-virus program has 4 viruses saved in the vault. Should I delete them? Trojan Horse Flooder.AKE?

I have ran my anti-virus, anti-spam, ect this morning and everything seems fine. But yesterday, I noticed that the photo on my desktop changed without my permission, and I was unable to do a system restore.

AVG(my anti-virus program) stored four virus's in the vault yesterday morning, right before I had these problems. Should I leave them there, or delete them from the vault? The "heal" option doesn't seem to be active, and when I click it, nothing happens.

The name of the four stored viruses are: Trojan Horse Flooder.AKE, and they are under 4 different file names: winlongon.exe(two of these), A0079791.exe, and A0079792.exe|||It is usually safe to delete these...the only reason they are kept is so that in case they are a system file or needed by some critical program, they can be restored.|||Deleting them is better

it is not much safe to keep viruses in vault or quarantine|||turn off system restore, right click on my computer select properties go to the system restore tab check the turn off system restore. Then go to AVG and delete the files in the vault, then turn system restore back on.....this will clear any restore points previously stored and start a new one with those files deleted. How to remove Trojan Horse Generic17.IIU?

My AVG is detecting Trojan horse Generic17.IIU and I don't know how to completely remove it. Often, after I restart my computer, it's still being detected after I have moved it to AVG virus vault and deleted from it. Thanks!|||Disable the System Restore feature on your computer. If this is still turned on, the system will restore any deleted files, including those infected by the Trojan horse. This can be done by going into the My Computer file and looking for the Performance option. Then select File System, Troubleshooting and Disable System Restore.

Turn on the computer and run it in safe mode. Restart the computer and when the words begin appearing on the screen, press the F8 key. This takes you to a new screen, where you'll select the safe mode option. Let the computer start as it regularly would before you continue.

Go into the Control Panel by clicking on the "Start" button at the bottom left-hand side of the screen and looking for the Control Panel. Select the Add or Remove Programs icon. The computer should then show a list of all programs existing on your system.

Look for programs that include Spyware or adware on your computer and select the Remove program option. Many users have found it helpful to look for programs that they didn't install and those that were installed when they downloaded a game or other program onto their computer.

Open the Windows System folder and delete all files that include the Trojan virus extension. Go through the list twice to make sure you removed all virus files. Then restart the computer in normal mode and check the folder again. If all the files are gone, you'll be ready to move on. If there are any remaining, remove them and restart the computer.|||You can use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.44 With Serial

AVG detected Trojan Horse SHeur3 and put it in the vault. Am I at risk and what was the aim of the infection?

AVG has done its job so you are safe. Its a very good anti-virus but I have had trojans and virus's whilst using it in the past. I strongly recommend Microsoft security essentials. Its completely free and since using it I have not had any nasty things on my laptop. Its real time too. Just google it and download, remember to uinstall AVG 1st.|||only thing i can suggest is to look it up on google and u will find the answer and the removal tool for the fix

AVG caught and moved a trojan horse virus to the vault. What does this mean...?

These were the details:

"Object name""C:\System Volume Information\_restore{D53440E0-EEC6-4D7F-鈥?br>

"Detection name""Trojan horse Generic18.SMC"

"Object type";"file"

"SDK Type";"Core"

"Result";"Moved to Virus Vault"

"Action history";"Moved to Virus vault"

What does this mean and what should I do, if anything? My computer was acting slow today recently, so I did a scan. I did one a few days ago and nothing was detected. How do I know if there was any harm done?|||Mearns it did it's job, the Virus Vault is just a safe place for AVG to keep the trojan. You can eventually empty the vault if you wish.|||moved to vault means this file is in quarantine.the trojan horse is deactivated and removed to a separate location by avg i.e. the vault.

since it is in vault,it can't do any harm.however you should scan your system with avg and other scanners also like spybot ,dr web etc.|||Well if you did any online banking since you noticed a problem, I would change the password.

You should probably do a scan with this:

http://download.cnet.com/Hitman-Pro-3/30鈥?/a>

Also, AVG is a really crappy antivirus so you might want to back it up with Immunet Protect or ThreatFire.

Once trojan horse is isolated, is my computer safe?

AVG has isolated the above virus to the "vault." Is my computer safe? Is there a way to rid the virus completely?|||Yes, you should be able to remove it, or empty quarantine, or something of that nature within the AVG settings. However if it is indeed in the 'vault' and quarantined then it is not a threat any longer.

More importantly, you need to make sure there is nothing else on your system and no deeply hidden traces of this latest bug still remaining.

I really advise you run some antimalware scans using both SUPERAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes. These frequently detect and remove malicious software left behind by antiviruses.

You can download SUPERAntiSpyware here:

http://www.superantispyware.com|||I have been installing AVG on clients computers for over 4 years now its a great Anti-Virus and more. When Avg virus vault gets a virus or a trojan... it keeps it from running and disables its funtionality. There is a way to clear the Virus Vault- Go to tray icon in bottom right-hand corner and right click on it, Select Open AVG User Interface. When the interface opens, Go to the toolbar at the top "File, Components, History, Tools, and Help" click on the "History Menu and click on Virus Vault... You will notice all the viruses and threats that AVG has stopped or found. Towards the bottom right you will see a button that says "Empty Vault" and the say "Yes." Now all the threats are now completely deleted from your system and AVG. If there is a problem with a file getting deleted AVG will alert you. If one of those programs trys to re-infect your PC AVG will stop it.

How do i remove a trojan horse from my computer?

i have scanned several times with AVG and it takes me directly to the file but it wont let me move it to the vault or delete it.|||Go to your windows system 32 file and organize the files by date created or modified. Sometimes this type of mal ware has several files associated with the core file causing the problems. Delete all recently created files unless you know that is a file that you intentionally downloaded. I would also get hihack this and do a scan. Look carefully at every file pulled up by this program and delete any bho file you do not recognize. If you are not sure you can post a copy of your log on some of the security websites and let experts look at it. If you are having problems deleting a file, try booting up in safe mode (F8 during boot) and then try deleting it. I have had several trojans infect my computer over the past few years and tried every program that supposedly gets rid of trojans and the like. While I would certainly try these programs, the only way I was able to get rid of them was by the method I described above.|||www.lavasoft.co Download ad aware. I dont know why everone says AVG is great, I thought it sucked.|||I think u shud go to the Control Panel in the start menu.

In that click on add or delete programs

Then select the particular s/w which u wanna delete.

Click on remove option on that.

Then the required s/w gets deleted....|||Some can't be removed ,it depends on software you may need to purchase new software but you should go to windows help and type in trojan removal|||there is a free anti virus called ANTIVIR it is free. might eliminate the virus from you precious PC.|||Copy down the file address and delete it manually. There are some trojans that AVG won't delete for some reason.

If a trojan horse virus was found and put into the vault, does it need to be deleted or left alone?

Leave it in the vault for now.

QUARANTINE FIRST, THEN DELETE LATER! (The "Vault" is what most anti-virus programs call "quarantine").

Malware removal is somewhat of an inexact science. Mistakes can and do happen. Often. False-positive detections happen more often then the anti-malware industry cares to admit. It's their dirty little secret.

Needed program files can be mistakenly flagged as malware. Quarantining allows a way to undo any incorrect file deletions, easily, if it ever becomes necessary. When the anti-virus vendor finds their mistake and corrects their signature definitions, for you, the user, it is too late. The needed file has already been permanently deleted. And then it's, "tough luck".

A file in quarantine is totally safe. It can do no harm.

You should quarantine everything for a month or so, then if all is OK with your computer and all of your programs, then you can delete.

Good luck.|||If it is in the vault then it cannot do any harm.

Nothing wrong with deleting it though.

The purpose of the vault is, for example:

Say you have a word document. It has all your important work in it. The Word document gets a virus. You don't want to completely delete it becaue all your important info will get deleted. So the virus checker put it in the vault so you can look into ways of cleaning it then getting it back to retrieve your work info.

If it is just a trojan file then feel free to delete it - you will never want that back!|||Putting it into quarantine (or the "vault") is designed to cut off the problem, so that you can look at it, and attempt to clean it, or just delete it from the system. There is nothing wrong with leaving it in the vault, but I would attempt to clean it (if its a file you need) or just delete it.

Also another virus scan once you've done the above is a good idea to make sure you have all the malware caught.

What discipline would you like to try some day?

Mainly i have just done jumping all my life, but my instructor is going to bring her horse and give us a vaulting lesson!!! I am super excited but kind scared also even though i know we wont be doing anything major.

Oh, and side saddle in a real side saddle, I have been working on it bareback and with my english saddle, but it would be so much cooler in a real side saddle, plus I am to chicken to canter side saddle|||Well it was barrel racing but I'm finally starting to do that, so honestly I have to say, three-day-eventing. I'm a secret dressage lover. Shh, don't tell anyone! Just kidding, but seriously, the more I learn about it, the cooler I think it is. And I've always loved jumping and wanted to learn. Horse riding, pains afterwards help?

Okay, to cut a long story short, the day after i ride I get really bad pains. If im doing something easy like trotting then im fine, but once I start jumping or vaulting (gymnastics on the horse for you guys who don't know what that is) then after wards my whole body aches and it hurts whenever I move. My joints feel sore and my legs have a dull ache over them, plus they feel heavy. Normally I would just ignore the pain and get over it. But it lasts for about 3 days and my riding lessons are closer together now...so the pain has started to affect the quality of my riding :/ Ive tried hot baths and stuff to make it go away faster. but ideally I don't want to get the pains in the first place. Any tips? Thanks|||Try asking this in the horse section (in the pet's category), you will get better answers and better help! :)|||Well my best guess is that your legs hurting is a normal thing after doing vaulting. Got a couple of questions for ya tho: How long have you been vaulting? How long of you been doing horse riding in general?. If you just started vaulting i would say that this is perfectly normal! Staying on your horse while jumping over things has to have a tol on your legs since it takes some strength to stay in place and on top of the horse. I would also say that you should talk to your instructer to see what they say! Im sure they would know alot about this!|||Unfortunately, it's normal. Horseback riding is exercise. The fact that you feel pain for a couple days after riding means that you're doing it right... you're using muscles that you don't often use or using them in a different way. The reason that they ache for the following couple of days is because your muscles are getting stronger.

Some people say that if you stretch before riding, your muscles hurt less afterwards, but I don't think it makes that big of a difference. You could try it though.

Honestly, the more often that you ride, the less you will ache afterward, so work though it. I don't have the funds to ride more than once a week, so I know what you're feeling. But I used to have access to a horse that I was allowed to ride every day. When I'd ride two days in a row, my legs would ache a little at the start of my ride on the second day, but I'd feel much better afterwards.

The more you do it, the better you'll feel... I promise!
